"My intention in developing a series portraying endangered animals is to recreate on canvas the feelings that come into play when I focus on a particular subject. I find these creatures so appealing that, as I paint them, a strong kinship grows. It is my wish that somehow the viewer can recognize his or her own 'humanity' in these faces, and realize we all share this planet together."
